1. What is an L Sealer and how does it work?
An L Sealer is a packaging machine that uses heated wires to seal products inside centre-folded polypropylene film. The “L” shape refers to the sealing bar configuration, which seals two sides of the film at once. It’s ideal for bakery goods because it creates a neat, professional finish while protecting the product.
2. What types of bakery products can I pack?
Our bakery L Sealers can wrap:
- Bread loaves, baguettes, baps, rolls
- Cakes, traybakes, flapjacks, scones
- Croissants, pastries, tea cakes, and savouries like sausage rolls or pies.
- You can also wrap non-bakery items if needed like clothes or pharmaceuticals.
3. What kind of film should I use?
We recommend centre-folded polypropylene film – either:
- Plain film for a crystal-clear presentation and longer shelf life
- Perforated film for warm products to prevent condensation
4. Can I seal warm products straight from the oven?
Yes – but only with perforated film, which allows steam to escape and avoids fogging.
5. What sizes of products can it handle?
The LS20 is our entry level model and can seal up to 225 x 200mm with a 75mm pack height – perfect for most bakery goods. We offer 2 larger machine option if required.
6. Is it suitable for high-volume production?
L Sealers are great for medium to high output in bakeries. If you’re packing hundreds of items a day, we can recommend the right model for your speed and volume.
7. How easy is it to use?
Very easy – simply place the product in the folded film, slide it into the sealing area, and lower the sealing head. The timer does the rest. No specialist training needed. See our YouTube deomnstration video for a detailed visual of how quick and easy packaging your products is.
8. How do I keep the machine clean?
Our machines feature stainless steel contact parts and a white epoxy finish for quick wipe-down cleaning.
9. Does it need a lot of maintenance?
No – L Sealers are low-maintenance. You’ll mainly need to replace the sealing wire occasionally, which is quick and inexpensive. Your machine will come with an additional Spares Kit containing 2 of each of the Wires, Tapes and Sponge Sets, as well as a 15m roll of Top Protection Strip to prolong the life of the base tapes.
10. Can it be moved around the bakery?
Yes – the machine is lightweight at 10kg, so with proper handling it can be moved around different onto different surfaces.
